At the height of the pandemic, the band was asked to participate in a “Get Out the Vote” event. Most of the group is politically active, and the band is as well – never shying from political and social songs.
Knowing that Ketch is a big Bob Dylan fan, Scott heard a lot of homage in this song – complete with important lyrics that verged on poetry. That’s when Scott, who was a huge fan of The Byrds growing up, thought: What if we do something with this song like The Byrds did to Dylan?
The members each recorded their parts in their home studios, and it was the first of a string of remote recordings the band did during lockdown. They even recorded video at home, with Scott stitching them together for YouTube.
It’s one of the newest additions to their live set – and it always manages to get a positive response.
